entered the Prom Guide Teen Search
modeling and scholarship competition
this year because she wanted to try
something new. She had always dreamed
of being a model, but with a full academic
schedule and a busy social life outside
of school, never really managed to get
started. This contest, she hopes, will be
a good stepping stone for her, win or
lose. She is accompanied in this photo
by fellow finalist Taylor Cooper from
Jarrell High School in Texas, another
Prom Guide Teen search finalist. His
tuxedo is from After Six. Their hair was
done by Danielle Irene with make-up
done by Vicki Starr.
Shantas goals outside of modeling
are to pursue a career either in
graphic design or as a psychologist.
She feels that one of her best qualities
is the ability to listen and give advice
when needed. She feels that she is
a leader amongst her classmates
but also understands that sometimes
you need to follow and learn from
those around you.
A perfect prom night for Shanta
would involve her dressed in a long
beautiful gown from Alyce Designs
with rhinestones and a low cut back.
She wants her date to be handsome
on the outside and beautiful on the
inside, a respectful young man who
knows what to say and do at just the
right moment. Her ideal venue would
be a majestic hall with an indoor
waterfall, lots of decorations, and
plenty of food. She also, of course,
aspires to be prom queen.
In an interview conducted with Shanta
Lochan by Prom Guide Magazine,
we found her to be vivacious and easy
to get along with. She describes her
own personality as bubbly and her
perfect date as being honest. We feel
that her own sense of honesty will
definitely help her to achieve her goals
in life. When asked what advice she
could give to other teens she simply
replied, Dont ever give up on your goals
in life. You never know what surprises
will come along if you keep trying.
As a finalist in the Prom Guide Teen
Search modeling and scholarship
competition, Shanta Lochans career
as a model has already begun, win
or lose. She has risen above so many
others who entered this year, and her
advice about, never giving up is
paying off for her. She has shown
perseverance and dedication in every
phase of the competition and has
definitely captured the hearts and
minds of online voters. We feel that this
young lady will go far and be successful
in anything that she chooses to do.
