Basic prom beauty for your face before prom night. The first is to watch your diet, not just because you want your dress to fit you in all the right places, but because you want your face to be its best. Sugar can be your skin’s enemy. Most foods have sugar in them, but when you add things like candy, sodas, energy drinks, cake and ice cream to your diet, you are just asking for a break out. Try to cut back on your sweets for the two weeks before prom night, and drink as much water as you can stand. Speaking of water, set aside some extra time each night for a little liquid TLC before bed. Clean your face with a gentle exfoliant (you can even use baking soda!). Wet your washcloth with water as hot as you can stand it, and press it against your face until it cools. This opens your pores. Next, apply a very light moisturizer to your face. If you have open or active pimples, avoid putting creams over them. Let the cream seep in for a few seconds, and use a warm washcloth to gently remove the excess. Pampering your face will remove dead skin and give you your best prom beauty glow. God-forbid a pimple shows up right before prom, resist the temptation to squeeze it. Instead, skin experts recommend that you treat it with topical solutions that won’t inflame or irritate your skin.
