Kaitlin Diaz, seen here wearing a
dress by Alyce Designs and jewelry by
Siman Tu, is a sweet young lady from
Cathedral High School in New York
and one of seven finalists in this years
Prom Guide Teen Search modeling
and scholarship competition. Kaitlin,
who entered the contest because she
loves to be in front of the camera,
plans to pursue a career in fashion
merchandising and feels that this
contest will be a positive step in that
direction. Her companion is Taylor
Cooper from Jarrell High School in
Texas, another Prom Guide Teen search
finalist. His tuxedo is from After Six.
Their hair was done by Danielle Irene
with make-up done by Vicki Starr.
When asked about her view of herself
and the role that she plays in her
immediate circle of friends and
classmates, Kaitlin says she feels that
she can be a leader but most importantly
wants to be a good friend. She is
confident and knows deep inside that
she will be successful in the fashion
industry or any other profession she
chooses to go into. We at Prom Guide
interviewed her and found her to be
socially comfortable and outgoing.
The perfect prom night for Kaitlin would
be a magical night of unforgettable
memories with a handsome prom
date who cant take his eyes or
attentions off of her. He also needs to
be a guy with an amazing personality
who is willing to dance, take pictures,
and socialize with her friends as well as
his own. She wants prom night to be a
special moment in her high school life
and spend some time with friends and
teachers that she has gotten to know
over the last four years.
Two of the questions that we ask all
Prom Guide Teen Search finalists are
what they think the most important issue
is for teens today and what advice
they would give to their classmates.
Kaitlin feels that health is the biggest
issue for teens today. She feels that
kids are too caught up in trying to be
that sexy, skinny model or that guy with
the perfect body. Everyone should be
happy with who they are and not try
so hard to be someone theyre not,
she says. Your beauty is on the inside,
not what you see in the mirror.
As a final note, Kaitlin has this to say
to all teenagers who are striving to
achieve success in their lives. Dont
ever give up because good things
happen to good people who keep
trying, so be determined. The staff at
Prom Guide couldnt agree with her
more. Our modeling and scholarship
competition is truly blessed to have a
young lady of this caliber participating
this year.
