2008 Prom Guide
Cover Model
Justine Omilig

When Justine Omilig of Edward Murrow High School was selected by her peers to model for Prom Guide, she knew it would be an exceptional event. With Terani Prom, providing her prom dress, Sizzle Shoes / Coloriffics providing her prom shoes, and Elesia Cunningham creating her makeup, she graces the cover of Prom Guide with style. Featured with her is Jacob Johnson of Powell High School wearing Calvin Klein. Prom Guide had a chance to chat with Justine at the photo shoot.

Prom Guide: Where did you first hear about the Prom Guide teen model search contest & scholarship?
Justine Omilig: Through previous contestants who entered at school.

Magazine: On a scale of 1-10 how psyched are you for the prom?
Cover Model: 11

Magazine: Is this your first experience in modeling?
Cover Model: Yes, I’ve done auditions before, but nothing that was ever published.

Magazine: Do you have a spa/salon day planned with your friends to do your hair or make-up?
Cover Model: Yes. Emelia’s downtown studio in Carroll Gardens.

Magazine: So, very important question, which designer are you wearing?
Cover Model: Probably Landa, I picked out a dress online.

Magazine: Have you already got a date for the prom, or are you going with a group from class?
Cover Model: Yes, my boyfriend Danny.

Magazine: Other than class, how do you like to spend your time in school?
Cover Model: I play badminton after school with friends, and I help the social studies department.

Magazine: How would you say that you show “love” to your school?
Cover Model: Not only am I here representing them, but I participate in charities, drives, and do “Murrow Bowl”, a competition between groups of seniors.

Magazine: When you’re not in school, where do you spend most of your time?
Cover Model: I have a part time job at Doshi Diagnostic Imaging for 5 days a week after school and on the weekends.

Magazine: Where are you and your friends going after the prom?
Cover Model: We’re either going to Wildwood for a weekend or going upstate New York.

Magazine: If you could have your pick of a “dream date,” name the celebrity or star you would ask.
Cover Model: My dream date would probably still be my boyfriend, but if I had to choose I would say Ryan Phillipe, back in his “Cruel Intentions” days.

Magazine: Where will you be going to eat after the prom?
Cover Model: At Wildwood or upstate NY, but I really just plan to eat at the prom.

Magazine: Who would be the best band or artist for you and your classmates at your prom?
Cover Model: My school is really mixed. Someone like Kanye West would be ideal to fit everyone’s needs.

Magazine: Graduation is upon you, do you have plans for college or work?
Cover Model: I am working now. I plan to go to CUNY Honors at Hunter. They are able to pay for room and board as well as tuition.

Magazine: If you had a time-machine and could teleport to the future 20 years, imagine and describe what you’re doing.
Cover Model: I would probably have a family, a career as a model and/or Psychologist, still living in Brooklyn.
