When Adriana Gerardino of J.W. Mitchell High School
was selected by her peers to model for Prom Guide, she knew it
would be a special event, and with a prom dress provided by Alyce, prom shoes
by Sizzle Shoes, and makeup by Elesia Cunningham, she graces the cover with
style. Featured with her is Joel Alvarez of Satelite High School who is
wearing Calvin Klein.
Prom Guide had a chance to chat with Adriana at the photo shoot.
Prom Guide: Where did you first hear about the Prom Guide
teen model search contest & scholarship?
Adriana Gerardino: At my school on the announcements.
Magazine: On a scale of 1-10 how psyched are you for
the prom?
Cover Model: 9
Magazine: Is this your first experience in modeling?
Cover Model: No, I haven’t seriously modeled, but I have
done two fashion shows for local artists and some
photo shoots.
Magazine: Do you have a spa/salon day planned with
your friends to do your hair or make-up?
Adriana Gerardino: No not yet, but I’m sure I will.
Magazine: So, very important question, which designer
are you wearing?
Cover Model: No idea! I want to design my own dress with
my mom.
Magazine: Have you already got a date for the prom, or
are you going with a group from class?
Cover Model: Yes, my boyfriend D’Angelo.
Magazine: Other than class, how do you like to spend your
time in school?
Cover Model: Learning and improving.
Magazine: How would you say that you show “love” to
your school?
Cover Model: By representing them here in New York on Prom
Guide; you can’t get any better than this.
Magazine: When you’re not in school, where do you spend
most of your time?
Cover Model: At work, with my little dog Chico, or with my
Godchild Jada, and of course with friends and family
Magazine: Do you have any plans with your friends for right
after the prom?
Cover Model: I’m sure we will get a limo, and head out to
Clearwater Beach.
Magazine: If you could have your pick of a “dream date,”
name the celebrity or star you would ask.
Cover Model: T.I. or Joaquin Phoenix.
Magazine: Where will you be going to eat after the prom?
Cover Model: Bern’s Steakhouse.
Magazine: Who would be the best band or artist for you
and your classmates at your prom?
Cover Model: T.I. and Alicia Keys.
Magazine: Graduation is upon you, do you have plans for
college or work?
Cover Model: I am going to community college for 2 years then
transferring to a big university.
Magazine: If you had a time-machine and could teleport
to the future 20 years, imagine and describe what
you’re doing.
Cover Model: I’ll be living in a big house with plenty of money, a
nice pool, living the good life. But I’ll be working hard.
